Presbyterian Manor, Perkins-Prothro Health Care, and House of Hope: Your SeniorLife Resource for All Seasons

Perkins-Prothro Health Care Center

Licensed Nursing Care

The Perkins-Prothro
Health Care Center is
the premier nursing care facility in North Texas. With 57 private rooms, an experienced and dedicated staff, and a commitment to caring for seniors, this licensed nursing facility provides the ideal blend of health care and personal comfort in a home-like atmosphere.

Residents at Perkins-Prothro Health Care are admitted under the direction of their primary care physician and receive the highest level of nursing care. Whether it’s short-term care following an injury or illness, long-term care providing assistance with day-to-day living, or palliative care for end-of-life concern, the Health Care Center provides a support system to help the individual live as actively and fully as possible.

The nursing staff is supervised by an on-site registered nurse sixteen hours per day – double the standard required by the state. A licensed nurse is on duty twenty-four hours a day. A registered dietician is also available for consultation.

Life in the Perkins-Prothro Health Care facility is more than just care for those who can no longer care for themselves. Residents may participate in social activities, worship at vespers services, or pamper themselves in the beauty shop. Residents also receive three meals a day with their plan. All rooms are private and include personal laundry service, phone service and basic cable service for your personal television. All rooms have a private bathroom and shower.

"The staff philosophy is that this is our residents’ home and we are paid to be in their home and care for them," says Director of Nursing Helen Talley. "So, yes, we are going to give a lot of TLC."
