The Perkins-Prothro Residents at Perkins-Prothro Health Care are admitted under the direction of their primary care physician and receive the highest level of nursing care. Whether it’s short-term care following an injury or illness, long-term care providing assistance with day-to-day living, or palliative care for end-of-life concern, the Health Care Center provides a support system to help the individual live as actively and fully as possible. The nursing staff is supervised by an on-site registered nurse sixteen hours per day – double the standard required by the state. A licensed nurse is on duty twenty-four hours a day. A registered dietician is also available for consultation.
"The staff philosophy is that this is our residents’ home and we are paid to be in their home and care for them," says Director of Nursing Helen Talley. "So, yes, we are going to give a lot of TLC."
